LUSTEC launches SUB10 tonne trailer
LUSTEC launched their latest innovation: the SUB10. As the name suggests, this tri-axle, deck-widening unit has a tare weight under 10 tonnes – just 9.8 tonnes, to be precise – offering a new benchmark in the industry.
Manufactured by LUSTEC, an Australian-owned and Queensland-based company, the SUB10 is engineered for performance. When paired with the right prime mover, it can achieve payloads of up to 32 tonnes.
Here’s how the numbers stack up: with 6.5 tonnes allowed on the steer axle, 18.5 tonnes on the drive, and 27 tonnes on the trailer group, the total permitted mass for moving indivisible loads comes to 52 tonnes. With a 10-tonne prime mover and a trailer under 10 tonnes, operators are left with a very practical and efficient 32-tonne payload.

In 2019, I decided it was time to have a crack myself and launch my own brand. I’m proud of where I’ve come from – I’m the third generation of my family in the industry. My brother Tim works alongside me, and I can still call on my dad whenever I need his guidance.”
